Robot mowers cut a little at a time, often. The cutting height range decides what grass they suit. The picks here run from 1 inch at the low end to 4 inches at the top. Before the first run, cut a tall lawn down with a regular mower.

Match it to your grass
- Low-cut grass such as Bermuda or Zoysia is often kept short. Look for a range that starts near 1 inch, like the Husqvarna Automower 410iQ or ECOVACS GOAT A2000 LiDAR PRO. ECOVACS names Bermuda, Zoysia, Fescue and St. Augustine on its listing.
- Taller cool-season lawns such as fescue are often kept at 3 inches or more. Every pick here reaches at least 3.5 inches.
